Why choose Norwest Skin Cancer Centre?
Norwest Skin Cancer Centre was opened in 2009 by A/Prof Paul Fishburn, who has practiced in skin cancer medicine and surgery since 2002. Our practice is focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer within our dedicated centre.
Skin examinations incorporate the use of dermatoscopy, a hand held skin magnification instrument, which has been proven to increase diagnostic sensitivity and specificity for skin cancer detection. The use of digital photography for mole monitoring, as well as total body photography (mole mapping) is used when required to aid diagnosis of melanoma, in line with current best medical practice.
How to Choose a Skin Cancer Doctor
Ask the following 3 questions:
- Is the practice dedicated to the care of skin or skin cancer only?
- What are the doctor’s qualifications in Skin Cancer Medicine?
- Are the doctors trained in the use of Dermatoscopy?
The doctors at Norwest Skin Cancer Centre dedicate the majority of their time to the diagnosis and management of skin cancer within a purpose built practice setting. In addition, they have post-graduate qualifications in the field of skin cancer and dermatoscopy.
